"There is a little bit of frustration that we're in this position, because a couple of our performances have not been as good as they can be," he said.
"But we showed how good we really can be and we need to be more consistent, and do it more often. Yes, it's a fantastic result but we need to play like that more often.
"I think this shows what we are all about. We were under a bit of pressure before the game, no doubt about it.
"We'd given ourselves a lot to do because of a bad start in this group. We knew we needed to win, but win convincingly. Thank-fully we've done it.
"It seems to be the way that you only see the true Liverpool when we are up against it.
"We've had our backs to the wall and been under pressure but have managed to produce the goods before, and we've done it again."
