Crouch calls for immediate response

Liverpool gave their worst ever performance under Rafael Benitez during Wednesday's defeat to Marseille and Peter Crouch says the Reds need to quickly bounce back, starting today.

"It would be nice to get a result against Tottenham as we were disappointed with our result and performance against Marseille," said the England striker.

"To have a game so soon is probably a good thing, on the back of a bad result you want to be playing again straight away.

"Tottenham will be an extremely difficult game. They've got a fantastic squad. They've had an indifferent start to the season so they'll come out and attack us from the start.

"They need a result as much as we do but hopefully our quality will shine through and we'll get the result.

"They showed great character to come back from 4-1 down against Aston Villa. You'd be disappointed to find yourself in that position but to come back from it shows fantastic character."
