Crouch dedicates goals to supporters

Crouch finally broke his duck on Saturday when he scored two first half goals against Wigan to help the Reds to a 3-0 win. There was a fantastic reaction to both goals from the fans and Crouch has dedicated his double to them.

"I cannot speak highly enough of the supporters. They were willing me to score and this is a goal not just for me and the team but for them as well," said the England international.

"People around Liverpool have been great. There are others who have their own opinions but maybe they are not watching the amount of games our fans do.

"The team-mates, manager and fans have been top class. It is much easier when the people who matter believe in you.

"But I also believe in myself and I believe I can go on a little run now. [While teeing up the first goal] I thought Carra and the rest of the lads were willing me to score.

"The manager has never had any problems. He has always said just keep doing what you are doing.

"I have been getting stick elsewhere but around the club the support has been top class and I think it was a relief for them as well.

"I really, really wanted to score. I am pleased for myself but I am also pleased for the team. The lads at the back have done very well, especially Carra and Sami - we have been keeping clean sheets and defending well throughout the side. We have to keep that run going now.

"I am lucky because there are an awful lot of people who have believed in me. When I have gone through a barren spell they have buoyed me up and I am sure that over the next few days people will be texting me and phoning me and I need to thank those people for keeping me going."
