Crouch glad to be a Red

Crouch, who is looking to return to first team action when the Reds visit Tottenham on September 10th, says he is loving every minute of his time at Anfield.

"Everything about this place is top notch. The facilities at Anfield and Melwood are excellent and the standard of players I'm training alongside each day is obviously a lot higher. I've enjoyed every minute of it so far and I'm looking forward to returning to action," said Crouch.

"I know I still have a lot to prove but I'm relishing the challenge. It's always been a big ambition of mine to compete at the top level. When you move to a new club it's important to try and make a good impression as early as possible. I was pleased with the start I'd made but it was obviously disappointing and frustrating to get injured when I did.

"A lot has been written about my style of play but that is what Rafael Benitez bought me for and I'm sure I can add more to my game and develop as a player under his managership. It's a lot easier when you have players of the calibre of Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard has your supply line.

"Once I knew Liverpool were interested in me, they were the only club I wanted to join. The transfer did drag on a bit and at times it was frustrating but now I'm here life couldn't be better at the moment. This is a massiveclub to play for and the move here represents a great challenge for me."

Although Crouch has only played a couple of games for the Reds there are already signs that he can form a deadly partnership with Djibril Cisse.
