Crouch and Steven Gerrard scored the goals that helped England beat Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 yesterday and qualify from the group stage with a game to spare. Afterwards Crouch said he was pleased to have done his bit.

"Three points are all that matters, to be honest," said the on form striker who now has six England goals in nine appearances.

"We are through to the next round and we would have taken that before the game.

"It was perhaps the most important goal I have scored. At one stage it didn't look good but thankfully it came.

"If you keep getting into the box then David Beckham will inevitably find you and it was a great feeling when I saw it hit the back of the net.

"In the end we got the right result and six points out of two games is perfect.

"Sweden found to their cost that Trinidad are not to be underestimated. They put up a good fight on Saturday and they did it again against us. Thankfully we managed to break them down.

"We have ground the wins out but if you said at the start of the competition that we would have scored three goals, none conceded and have six points from our first two games, we would have taken that.

"We do know we can play better and we will do that and we would love to get nine points out of nine."
