Crouch still to rise to dizzy heights

Crouch said: "We didn't get off to the best of starts but the most important thing was the result and we want to finish the job off at Anfield next week. It was my first competitive game since last season so it went OK. There is still a lot more to come from me."

And despite the difficult conditions, the new signing was pleased that his new team found the right result.

"It was difficult conditions out there to be honest but once we got used to them we got the ball down and started to play as we can and got a good result in the end.
