Crouch to stay

With Liverpool almost certain to bring in a new striker during the transfer window, Peter Crouch has been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Newcastle one possible destination. However, Rafael Benitez has told the striker he wants to keep him.

"The manager has told me I'm part of his plans and that's good enough for me," said Crouch.

"At a club like Liverpool there's going to be competition for places, especially as the manager likes to chop and change."
