Bayer Leverkusen striker Andriy Voronin has already agreed to join the Reds in the Summer and Liverpool have also been linked with Samuel Eto'o and David Villa. Should Rafa Benitez add to his striking options, Peter Crouch will welcome the competition.

"There's a lot of speculation about what might happen in the summer but you just have to accept it as part and parcel of being at a big club like Liverpool," said the England international.

"With the new investment the manager might have a bit of money to spend and it's obvious we're going to get quality players in.

"It will be tougher to get in the team and nobody's place will be certain.
"It means you will have to work as hard as possible to keep your place. That doesn't bother me. The fact that the manager will be looking to strengthen the squad can only be good news."
