The 6'7" striker will now play a vital role in England's World Cup campaign following the injury to Michael Owen, but he insists he's not a one-trick pony.

"I totally resent it to be honest when it is said I make England a long ball team because of my height," he said. "It's frustrating.

"I'm taller and different to Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen but it doesn't mean we are going to play long ball just because I am in the team.

"It is an option we can use, but not one we want to use all the time. Against Sweden, we didn't play hardly any long balls. There were maybe a couple but a lot of balls were played into feet.

"I have proved over the years that I can receive the ball into my feet as much as anyone else and I am sure all the players know that."
