With Borrusia Dortmund's formidable forward Jan Koller already assured of his place in the starting line-up, the pace and energy of Baros will vie for a place alongside the giant striker against the creative verve of the more experienced Smicer throughout what is expected to be a successful tournament for the East Europeans.

"Koller is Koller and he will play for sure," revealed Czech Republic assistant Josef Csaplar. "We will make some changes in our starting line-up, mainly because of the number of forwards.

"That means when we play with two forwards, there will be a question about whether it will be Smicer or Baros.

"Our decision will depend on our opponent - it will not be the same when we will play against Estonia as it will be when we play Holland.

"Baros is better in fast-breaks and Smicer in slow attacks, that means that Baros will definitely be more useful in a game against Holland."
