Dalglish - Reds fans are well-educated

Last updated : 24 February 2011 By Adam Bryant

"The great thing about our supporters and why they contribute towards the great European nights is they are very well educated," Dalglish said.

"They know the opposition are going to come and sit back. They know they are going to make it difficult for us. The fans have to be patient because we have to be patient.

"You look back at one of the greatest nights against St Etienne. In the second half it goes 1-1 and even at 2-1 up I think we're still out.

"But the punters were still there, cheering us on. David Fairclough scores a third and it's one of the greatest nights ever.

"Our fans understand the rules in Europe and the way the game works. That will be a big help for us against Sparta."
