Dalglish delighted with win

Champions League qualification is a serious aim for the Reds once again, especially after yesterday's 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge. After the game Dalglish was quick to praise the professionalism of his players and the way they refused to be distracted by the hype surrounding Fernando Torres's Chelsea debut.

"We approached it professionally. The players were fantastic in their approach to the game and their determination to win the match," said the boss.

"As this club has always said, the most important people are the people who are at Liverpool Football Club. That's the way they approached the game.

"That's four clean sheets in a row now and 12 points. Everybody who has got any favour towards Liverpool will be very happy at the moment.

"Our incentive was to get three points and that's what we did. Whatever someone wants to do with their life, that's entirely their choice.

"For me personally I came here to win three points and if Carlo Ancelotti had been playing up front I'd still have wanted the three points. The personnel and the opposition are not important to me. The only people who are important to me are those in red shirts.

"We've signed two fantastic players: Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. We're looking forward to seeing them coming in and playing, if they can get in the team! The way the boys played today it won't be too easy for them!

"It was a busy day Monday and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. We've had a great week."
