"First of all I think they have arrived at Liverpool at a very good point in their career, and with Gerard as manager it is very good for them too," said the former Fulham coach.
"As he showed with Henry and Trezeguet, Gerard is a manager who believes in developing young talents.
"He will want to push and help them and if they can understand that message they can arrive very quickly on the Premiership."
