Murphy explained: "My girlfriend told me I was going to score today, and she never says that. And Steven Gerrard said he thought I'd score as well. I didn't know where either of them were coming from.
"It's a special game to play in and it was very special for me to score the winner. It's great that we've been able to give the fans some pride back because it's been a long, hard season for them.
"It just shows that when this squad wants something badly enough then we are capable of going and getting it. There's still a long way to go in the race for the top four but we've given ourselves a good chance now."
