Defender launches autobiography

Last updated : 14 January 2002 By Kop Talk News
Hyypia has become a national hero back in his homeland since his switch to Anfield in 1999 and demand for his book back there is expected to be high.

Meanwhile, before jetting off, Hyypia talked about Liverpool's recent dip in form.

"We haven't played well in the last six games and when you don't win there is always going to be criticism of us. That's something we have to expect because it's part of our job," said the defender.

"When you win you accept the praise and when you lose you have to expect criticism. That's life.

"I think criticism of any member of the coaching staff has been unfair though. It's up to ourselves as players. We do the job on the pitch and I know the backroom staff here are doing their best and giving 100 per cent commitment while the manager's away and preparing us for the games as well as possible."
