Diao joins Pompey

Diao has been out of favour at Liverpool since last year and so has joined Portsmouth on a season long loan deal. The Fratton Park outfit have the option to buy Diao at the end of the season.

Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie said: "Salif is a competitive midfield man and with his addition we now have a very competitive midfield in itself."
