Diao to return

Diao, who is out of favour at Anfield, has spent the last few months on loan at Stoke. However, that loan deal expires on January 1st and the Championship side have not asked to extend it.

Rafael Benitez will try and find another loan deal for Diao as he doesn't want him at Melwood and he certainly won't play for Liverpool should he stay.

Diao's five year contract finally expires at the end of the season and Liverpool will finally be rid of the Senegal international.
