Diarra to depart

"I am enjoying myself at Lens," said Diarra, adding, "I have two years left on my contract with Liverpool but I hope to remain with Lens."

And he admitted that the move could help him to establish himself in the French national side.

"For me playing time is important and I have to think about the France team. The best solution would be to sign for Lens to continue to progress. I hope the Reds can find common ground with Lens over a deal," he added.
