The former Liverpool player believes the Trotters can continue their good run of results against the Reds at the Reebok when the two teams face each other on Sunday.

"We have done very well against Liverpool over the years as we have always stuck to playing the football which suits us," said the £10m flop who was sold by Rafael Benitez in 2004.

"We have played our football and have always believed in ourselves. We need to do that again.

"Liverpool are a good team with good players, but if we play our football then we can beat them like we do every season.

"Every game is a big game for us now, not just because we're playing Liverpool or Man United. We need to win football games and be fantastic."
