The controversial forward failed to score a single goal for the Reds last season but he feels much of the blame lies with former Anfield supremo Gerard Houllier.

Diouf, speaking to Sky Sports News, said of Houllier: "''When the team lost he talked of this player and that player.

''But, I win together, lose together. 'I don't think you should look to one player when we lose. I don't like that mentality.

''You know, he blamed me for going to the African Cup of Nations to play with my country.

"Every time he (Allardyce) always listens to the player and he laughs with the player. 'He talks to the players and he is a nice coach.''
