Diouf happy with Anfield form

The former Lens player had looked out of his depth in the Premiership after a number of poor displays as a striker . A move to the right of midfield, though, has seen Diouf show the skill and strength that made him a World Cup star.

The 22 year-old now believes that he is ready to prove that he is worth every penny of his £10m fee.

Diouf told LFC Magazine: "I want to do my best for this club because it deserves it, and so do the fans. I think Liverpool is a club which suits me well. I really want to succeed here and win things.

"I know that at first I wasn't adding what I should have been adding to the Liverpool team. But I think I am on the right lines now and I want to confirm that.

"When I came back from the World Cup I was really tired because last year I played all the games for my club, be they in the cups or in the championship. I also played internationals for Senegal, both in the African Nations Cup and the World Cup. I was exhausted.

"The hardest thing when you come to a new club is to be liked by the players. I respect the players here, just as they respect me."
