The Liverpool player, currently on loan with Bolton, was set to make his comeback for his country after serving a four-game ban picked up in February's African Nations Cup.
But he was spotted at a nightclub in Dakar on Saturday morning, prior to the team's departure to Liberia and coach Guy Stephan insisted on him being left behind.
Senegal went on to win the game 3-0.
