Diouf ready for stardom

After a slow start to life in the Premiership Diouf is finally showing the kind of form that first brought him international acclaim. The 22 year-old feels he can build on recent displays and realise his lofty ambitions.

Diouf said: "To be part of the most mythical club in the world is a responsibility. I still believe I have the qualities to be among the best players in the world.

"I want to improve, to work hard with Liverpool and to succeed. I want to become a big star in England."

And Diouf says the team spirit among the Liverpool players has been a huge factor in helping him settle on Merseyside.

"We're like brothers. Be it Michael or Emile, we're always joking. I'm really having fun.

"But we're young. Arsenal or others don't have more qualities. We simply lack experience. It's a pain not to live up to our ambitions but nothing's lost."
