The club believes the move will help maintain relations between the two clubs in this difficult period.
A Liverpool spokesman said: We have arranged for the fan to meet El Hadji Diouf because he wants to apologise.
"Everyone at Liverpool is conscious of the special relationship between the clubs which goes back a long way.
"The last thing we want is for this incident to sour that relationship."
The fan himself admits that he would be willing to forgive the Senegalise star if offered an apology by the player.
Schiavone told the Daily Record: "It would be a nice gesture for either Liverpool or Diouf to organise that for me.
"I'm desperate to see the game, and what happened at Parkhead hasn't put me off."
