Kuyt's goal opened the scoring for the Reds in their 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.
"It was great to have all the family here and great to score, especially when my dad's here," said Kuyt. "He's doing very well after the operation.
"It was a big operation, but he's recovering well. He's been a big inspiration for me. He's always been like that, now even more so. I have a lot of respect for him."
