France coach Roger Lemerre has insisted that the World Cup door has not been closed on Nicolas Anelka.
Anelka was left out of the France squad that is set to play a friendly against Romania next week casting doubts over the striker's chances of making the finals in the summer.
"Nicolas went to England to boost his chances but he must play as much as possible with his club and try and force his way into a regular first-team place," said Lemerre.
"I haven't forgotten him. I have an eye on him like all the other France players."
