Downing: Reds need the killer instinct

“I think I’ve hit every part of the goal apart from the net so far,” he said.

“It was unlucky. But the pleasing thing is that we won and that's the main thing.

“It was a dangerous scoreline going in at half-time 2-0 up against West Brom. If they had got one back we would have been under pressure.

“We knew they were going to react in the second half but we saw the game out well and could have had a few more goals.

“Credit to the back four, I thought we defended really well. They got a lot of tackles in and made a lot of blocks.

“The pleasing thing is that we are creating so many chances. We were always dangerous on the counter attack.

“We played some good stuff and the manager is happy with us winning but I'm sure he would like to see us killing teams off better than we are.”
