"My dream came true tonight. To score at Anfield in my first game is very special," he told the club's official website.
"I wasn't sure I could score a goal in the time I had on the field but the ball fell nicely for me in the area and I was able to catch my shot just right.
"It was a nice moment for me but the important thing was to win the game. We did that but it's just the beginning and there is still work to be done.
"We are Liverpool and we have to be in the Champions League but we're not there yet. The second leg will be very different because they have to score now but we have to work hard and do what we need to qualify."
