Dudek: Do it for the fans

Dudek admits this has been a poor season by Liverpool's own high standards but the goalkeeper believes that finishing fourth will be a consolation at least.

Dudek said: "It's been a difficult season for us and we haven't done as well as we would have liked. That's obvious.

"But there is still time for us to achieve something and we must take this opportunity. If we finish fourth then at least it will mean we have done something this season. It's not where we want to be on a long term basis, but for this year it will be good enough.

"We all want to be in the Champions League. The staff and the players are all working hard to achieve this and to do it for the supporters. The fans have been great this year and have stayed behind us even when we've had a bad time. We owe it to them to finish fourth.

"It will be nice to go away for the summer knowing that we have Champions League football to look forward to when we come back. And I'm confident we could do well in the competition and have a much better season overall than we have had this year."
