But Dudek believes he can recreate the form he had during Liverpool's treble-winning season.
"When people always talk about a new goalkeeper coming here it's never a comfortable situation," said the Polish keeper. "But when I don't feel pressure then I can be the best goalkeeper in the world.
"At least no-one can take this European Cup winner's medal away from me. I've always had criticism and because of this you always have to be on your toes.
"My head is spinning. I can't get my brain around it all. We're the European champions. I phoned my mum in Poland after the game and said 'Mum, we won! We won!
"This is the biggest thing ever. I'm not sure this will ever sink in. We are the champions!"
