"Rafa Benitez was asking if I would be able to sign for another year but I have to think whether it would be better for the future," said the European Cup final hero.
"It was a very tough time for me after the Champions League final.
"I got injured and then I lost my place in the team.
"But if you play for Liverpool and everyday you train with fantastic players and you are in a fantastic city, you can be happy.
"I know my contract is until the end of the season and I have to think about my future.
"There will come in a time in next couple of weeks when we will sit and talk about my future with the manager."
