Dudek: People shouldn't put all their hopes on Michael

Liverpool 'keeper Jerzy Dudek says England fans shouldn't expect Michael Owen to carry the team on his own.

There are high expectations on Owen's shoulders and he was heavily criticised by the media for a quiet game against Sweden.

Next up is Argentina and again the pressure has been applied in the build-up with various S.O.S. messages aimed at the Liverpool striker.

"Sometimes we can expect too much from a player like Michael," said the Dude.

"We should remember he is still a very young player. I think it's wrong to put so much pressure on him. It's important to allow him to enjoy these competitions and the experiences."
