"I've been waching the video again and it's clear we have to do something," said Rafael Benitez. "The tackle on Jerzy was terrible.

Dudek was expected to feature in Liverpool's Carling Cup tie with Reading in two weeks time, but a suspension would rule him out, allowing David Martin to possibly make his debut for the club.
