Dudek: Win it for Xabi

Alonso misses the semi-final second leg after a fat Icelander dived to get him booked but his team-mates will do all they can to ensure he has a final to return to.

"I don't think any of us realised when the yellow card came out what it meant, though of course Xabi did," said Dudek.

"It was only when we got back to the dressing room and saw the look on his face it dawned on us. He looked distraught, and the whole mood went quiet, even though we had played so well and come away with a good result.

"We all really felt for him. He was so down, visibly upset, and those were difficult moments for us all.

"But it has made us all the more determined to make sure we finish the job at Anfield for Xabi. We will try and do it for him and make sure there is a Champions League final for him to look forward to.

"It would be fantastic if we could do it for him at Anfield, and that will certainly spur us on. We all want to do it for him. That will be our aim."
