Southampton left-back Wayne Bridge has been linked with a possible transfer to Anfield before the August 31st deadline.
According to newspaper reports Liverpool have had an offer of £7million rejected with the Saints wanting £9million.
If this deal falls through, Houllier will turn to Ipswich's Hermann Hreidarrson claim the reports.
Houllier is a fan of Bridge and he has sniffed round him in the past.
