The 24-year-old Dutch striker is hoping a deal can be struck but admits no bid has yet been received for his services.
Rafael Benitez is keen on Kuyt, but he would cost £8m, so the Spanish boss appears to have switched his attentions to Southampton's Peter Crouch, who would be slightly cheaper.
"I would really want to go to Liverpool," he said. "It's a great club and I hope I can play for them.
"Liverpool have contacted Feyenoord but no bids have been made."
If a move to Liverpool falls through, Newcastle are waiting in the wings to sign Kuyt.
