The Moroccan international is no longer prepared to be a bit-part player at Anfield and has asked for a transfer so he can get regular first team football.
"I want to leave Liverpool. I do not play often enough," said El Zhar.
"I'm 23 and I cannot afford to only play a few bits of games.
"There are several European clubs interested and I will not close any doors."
