Steven Gerrard had a great chance to make it 2-0 for England but he sent an easy chance wide of the post and Russia capitalised on the let off and scored twice in four minutes to take the three points.
England's qualification hopes are now out of their own hands. They need Israel to take something off Russia on November 17th or they will not be going to the finals this Summer.
