England bomb out

Steven Gerrard's World Cup dream is over as England were humiliated 4-1 by Germany, their heaviest ever defeat in a World Cup game.

Sloppy defending saw Germany race into a 2-0 lead before Matthew Upson actually did something right when he headed in a Gerrard cross for 2-1. Frank Lampard then scored with a lob that bounced at least a yard over the line before bouncing out again . Unfortunately for England the dickhead linesman and dickhead referee were the only two people in the Stadium not to see the ball cross the line and the goal didn't stand.

England continued to be crap at the back and Germany were able to score twice more in the second half in what was a stroll for them.

Gerrard and Glen Johnson both played the full 90 minutes while Jamie Carragher was an unused subsitute.
