England can cope without Rooney says Crouch

Wayne Rooney is unlikely to play a part in England's World Cup campaign after breaking his fourth metatarsal against Chelsea last week. However, Peter Crouch says Sven Goran Erikkson's side have enough in their locker to cope without the Manchester United striker.

"We have a squad to cope with injuries and hopefully we have one big enough and good enough to do that," said the Liverpool forward.

"Losing Wayne is a big blow to any side because he's a top class player and obviously we'll miss him but that's what the squad is there for.

"We've got players who can win matches and we've proved that over the course of the season.

"Everybody has seen what big players we've got for England and hopefully we can cope without him, which I'm sure we will."
