England win

A David Beckham free kick was enough to give England a 1-0 win over Ecuador in what was a poor game, to send them through to the last eight of the World Cup.

Steven Gerrard was the only Liverpool player to start the game for England but Jamie Carragher was brought on as a second half subsitute for Joe Cole.
