32-year-old Coleman, who was appointed as manager at Loftus Road ahead of a string of big names, is said to be eager to bring in an experienced adviser to help him on a part-time basis. Evans admits that he would be eager to accept such a role - though the London club have yet to speak to him.

Evans said: "I haven't heard anything about it apart from the story in one of the papers yesterday. I've been enjoying my time out of football and I'm on holiday at the moment.

"But I'm looking to get back into football and I'm always looking for an opportunity that would suit. If someone was to give me a call, I'd be very keen to get back in.''
