EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool midfielder fancies move South

Since completing his move from Everton, Barmby has naturally had to deal with a lot of personal jibes from bitter Blues. Throw in his injury problems and his lack of first team appearances when fit, and you have a player that's feeling a bit down.

Our source insists that Barmby doesn't have a problem with the management and understands that it is a squad game at Anfield. However, the midfielder has told friends that he would consider a move South in the summer if the opportunity became available.

Southampton have registered an interest with the Reds but whether Barmby would fancy a move to the Saints would have to remain to be seen.
