One of Liverpool's first team regulars is rumoured to have handed in a transfer request following an alleged row over his role at the club next season.

Sources close to the club insist that if the request is accepted, the club must have already made significant steps to bring in a big money replacement as such a departure would leave a huge hole in the side.
If the player concerned does leave in the summer, his departure would certainly raise a few eye-brows following his peformances this season.
