Ex-Red linked with Blues

Everton have had permission from the FA to make an emergency loan signing of a goalkeeper. Former Derby keeper Mark Poom was their first choice but his current club Arsenal have blocked the move. Everton have now turned to former Liverpool goalie Sander Westerveld who is currently back up goalkeeper at Portsmouth.

Westerveld was signed for Liverpool by Gerard Houllier in 1999 and was part of the side that won the League Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Cup treble in 2001.
