Hundreds of fans turned up at the ground yesterday afternoon as the Spirit of Shankly union padlocked the Kop gates and put eviction notices reading 'Hicks and Gillett out now' around the ground.

The protest was against the new fan cards that will cost supporters £29 per card, per season. Fans will not be allowed to apply for match tickets without the new fan cards.

The protest made Setanta Sports News and Granada News yesterday evening.
