'Faster Than Owen' stormed home a 7/2 winner by nearly 6 lengths on Saturday evening but was controversially locked-up following the race for time finding.

'Faster Than Owen' spent a night in the jug after officials caged her on Saturday
The racing greyhound that is owned by 9-year-old Liverpool supporter Charlotte Oldham was immediately caged and required to provide a urine sample after the race.

In her previous four and five racers the dog had been knocked from pillar to post and her routes blocked in every challenge but on Saturday her luck changed and she was given a free run hence the fantastic performance.

The on course bookmakers agreed that the dog hadn't found time through any improper reasons and that the dog had just been unlucky in the 4/5 races prior to Saturday night's brilliant race.

Speaking today, Charlotte Oldham said: "They (racing stewards) need to get a life. She won the race fair and square the results will prove that. Why do they think I called her 'Faster Than Owen'?!" [Ed: Good girl Charl, you stick to that!]

Liverpool supporters around the globe look set to launch mini protests if the dog is stitched-up. Until the outcome of the inquiry, the dog will continue to race and a run on Thursday or Saturday of this week looks likely, although from the 'scratch' position.
