Ferdinand's ban expires on the 19th September, and Sky have put back the Liverpool-Man Ure game to the 20th to allow him to play his first game since January 17th.

Man Ure manager Demento said: "The Bolton game today is Rio's last domestic match out. He has been training fantastically and he is looking magnificent. We haven't been able to play him at all because the FA don't allow banned players to play in reserve or behind-closed-door games but having him back is a great thing to look forward to."

Although Ferdinand is expected to return against the Reds, Wayne Ballooney is unlikely to recover from his broken foot in time to feature.
