Feyenoord have confirmed that Leeds United have made enquiries about their Aussie winger Brett Emerton - a confirmed Liverpool target.

United boss David O'Leary was in Holland on Sunday to see Emerton play against Heerenveen. After the game he met Feyenoord president Jorien van den Herik and discussed Emerton's availability.

Feyenoord spokesman Jon Schwartz confirmed: "O'Leary and van den Herik had coffee and talked in the President's Club and talked about many things, including Emerton, but Feyenoord are still waiting to see if Leeds meet the valuation of the player.

"Leeds have not made an official bid and it is up to them where they go from here."

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is monitoring the situation "very closely".
