Sydney FC's director of football Andy Harper poke of his delight in possibly facing the Reds.
"Liverpool would be a dream date for us. We are under no illusions. It will be difficult to get to the semi-finals. But Liverpool are a massive club and we would love a crack at them.
"Australia is still a colony in a lot of ways so playing against the motherland will be like the (cricket series) Ashes revisited.
"It will definitely be a step up for us. But you can't understate the size of the impact these games will have back home."
